Types of Herbalism Appointments

Initial Consultation:

Because we take a whole-health approach, all new clients must have an initial consultation.  Plan to spend around two hours with our Clinical Herbalist because the consultation is quite in-depth.  We will ask questions about your health, habits, medications, history, etc. so that he can build a detailed picture of what shaped your health as it is today.  This is an essential step because only then can you work together to build a treatment plan that addresses the WHOLE you (rather than one that just puts a band aid on the symptoms).  These appointments can be in the clinic or they can be virtual.  When you schedule your appointment, we’ll reach out to you to see which you would prefer, and we’ll send you the Consent for Treatment and the Intake Questionnaire, both of which can be completed and submitted digitally.

Generally, by the end of the appointment, you’ll understand how we work, what your individualized plan is (including an estimate on how long you’ll need to take the herbal blend and how many refills you can expect to need), when you can pick up the herbal concoctions made specifically for your needs (we’ll ship these to you if you would prefer, though shipping costs will be added to the invoice), and what you should expect once you start taking the herbs.  A few days after you’ve picked up the herbs, we’ll give you a call to see how you’re responding and to check if adjustments need to be made.

Follow-up Appointment:

The Clinical Herbalist will determine if follow-up appointments are needed, and if so when they should happen.  These appointments give you both the opportunity to determine if you’re responding positively to the treatment, if adjustments need to be made, if the treatment can be concluded or if you require additional herbal therapy.  These appointments can also be in person or virtually.
